It’s game three for the Colorado Rapids in the Desert Diamond
Cup. With a draw and a loss it’s time for a win. Wednesday’s opponent is Sporting KC, a team
the burgundy boys always put up a fight against. Sporting KC played to a tie in
their game against the Revolution as they too are making preseason adjustments having
just waived midfielder Amobi Okugo.
If you haven’t visited the Rapids website or been on twitter,
than you’ve not seen Shkelzen Gashi in motion, but it’s happened. There was some shooting, and some running, and a little bit of some cheeky stuff. Will he get minutes? I would like to think
so. The first half of the last two matches were what we should look at as far
as what we can start to expect.
That goes for the starting XI as well as the
idea of playing out of the back. Sean
St. Ledger said in the Rapids latest article that Kevin Doyle just needs
service, so look for that to happen a little more often. Dom Badji also seems to be getting quality
time in the last two games as well as netting a goal last week.
As we get further into this preseason tournament we will get to see the pieces of the puzzle come together. If there is the slightest part of you that's looking forward to what you may see, then you know it's already going to be better than last year.
Predicted starting XI: MacMath, Hairston, Burling Sjoberg,
Burch, Azira, Watts, Badji, Powers, Serna, Doyle.
